Date: 2007-10-05 06:11 pm (UTC)I mean, how's a several-hour wait and a copayment for a doctor I'm not even sure who it is going to make me feel better, when s/he will likely tell me to do what I am doing anyway?
Figures I get this on MY time off.

Date: 2007-10-05 06:21 pm (UTC)Look, I have no idea who my doctor is on my company insurance; it's already the middle of the afternoon, even if I found that out; and it's clearing up already, or I wouldn't be sweating like this.
I have hot tea steeping in the kitchen and I'll stay wrapped up. If I could get myself through the Martian Death Cold all those years ago with an indifferent doctor (it was the winter holiday season, forget patients, right?), this is nuthin'.
I have to schlep the laundry to Mrs Cummings's house anyway before it goes all mildew.

Date: 2007-10-05 06:45 pm (UTC)I've had to deal with Metro General before the whole VUMC/Meharry shuffle. I can imagine. The ER at MTMC is okay, though. Not terribly convenient to you, I understand, so when do you move up here?

Date: 2007-10-05 06:42 pm (UTC)Sheesh... if I ever get really sick, I'll have to make a point of posting about it (having somebody post for me) and see if I can get some of you guys to stampede down here to take care of me.

Date: 2007-10-05 07:02 pm (UTC)(Says the woman who just Happily put $300+ on her credit card for her sister's fur-child, and then another $400+ for the medical foot supports her sister needed... Sister is already doing better - but the biopsy on the fur-child's lump came back malignant. Will I spend that money to get said lump cut off again if it comes back? In a Gallifreyan Hearts-beat!)

Date: 2007-10-05 07:03 pm (UTC)If I asked you to come and teach my GS troop (they are now 12/13 years old) something MEANINGFUL! ...
Your hair would knock their socks off.
of course, puppies are always good..... I don't mean physically really though.
Something Scottish? I just think you have to contribute to these girls.. there are 10 of them.

Date: 2007-10-06 12:23 am (UTC)As for fevers and Florida, I feel as if I brought a heat wave to the Niagara area. This summer remained well above 85F and the fall is fairly warm. I have the sneaky suspicion that this winter is going to give me the smackdown. I rarely see a doctor since I cannot afford health care without a job. Plus, by the time my chest or head congestion is at its worst, it's already passing. I stick to a few tried-and-true remedies and know when to see a doctor about infections and such. I've had plenty of doctors act as if I'm wasting their time and as if I'm a hypochondriac when I make an appointment to be seen.
