This may or may not come in handy; might be applicable for paints, by the way.
I had a container (plastic can) of premoistened wipes -- Playtex Products' 'Wet Ones', in this case. It's good to have something like that if you're out on the road, for hasty cleanups if you can't get to a proper restroom.
The container, for those of you who really need a pedantic description, is about 7" tall and maybe 3.5" in diameter. It has a snap-on lid, which has an inch-wide cross-cut opening in the centre, itself covered with a lid which snaps down into the depression of the opening.
These have been resident in Herne the Greenvan (dark green... in This Sun) for some time now. I was transferring useful items into the as-yet-unnamed Vibe today before leaving for work when I pulled out this can of wipes. Expecting them to be completely dessicated, I opened the little flap on the top and felt the bit of toweling sticking up.
They're still damp!
Therefore, if anybody needs to store anything which needs to stay wet, be assured that the Wet Ones containers will resist moisture loss quite effectively, as long as they're properly closed, even under adverse conditions (inversion, prolonged heat).
