Four things

.
For [livejournal.com profile] twitchycat, I wrote what she called The. Best. Sonnet. Ever.

heeheeheeheeheeheehee

My shire's Hospitaler found me a ride to Crown Lyst. So, naturally, I have to deal with the soaked room that came up last minute instead. Ahhh, there's my skull muscles tensing up againg. [glower]

People are off having fun at Dragon*Con, or on their way there. It's 12 hours from here; a lot of people I know of are considerably closer.

I live at the bottom of a gravity well.

[livejournal.com profile] heidi8, [livejournal.com profile] alien010, [livejournal.com profile] darkbarde -- did any of you have the same kind of wakeup call I did this morning? Thunder crack from a cell which must've been immediately overhead - I got flashBANG, no wait. Scared the schnauzer half to death, of course (she's the little grey critter playing with D'Argo in his pictures). Two hours before my alarm, too. *sigh*

Oh, hasn't the weather been terrible? We wnt to boca to visit my gran yesterday and it was miserable going up and back. And of course Harry was upset because he didn't get to swim.

The density of the rain last night when I was leaving work (Miramar), all the way east on the Turnpike to about Calder, was possibly the worst I'd ever driven in. And I drove through the edges of Hurricane Elena, eh?

Some of the street lights were out, so I was navigating by a combination of head memory, muscle memory and the glimmer off the paint of the left-hand lane stripe. Of course, the fact that it was mostly a straight line helped, but easy to swerve off accidentally as well.

Thankfully, by the time I got through the toll gates, it had lightened up to normal rain again.

I wake-up call was the same as every day: my mother walking into my room at 6 am to get me up to pack hers and my dad's lunches.

I was awakened by my roommate's alarm around 6am, but promptly went back to sleep until 8:30. No flashing, no banging. So sad.

Kinda surprised you two [indicates [livejournal.com profile] alien010] didn't get the same weather I got that morning, but... South Florida is weird that way.
