My shire's Hospitaler found me a ride to Crown Lyst. So, naturally, I have to deal with the soaked room that came up last minute instead. Ahhh, there's my skull muscles tensing up againg. [glower]
People are off having fun at Dragon*Con, or on their way there. It's 12 hours from here; a lot of people I know of are considerably closer.
I live at the bottom of a gravity well.

darkbarde -- did any of you have the same kind of wakeup call I did this morning? Thunder crack from a cell which must've been immediately overhead - I got flashBANG, no wait. Scared the schnauzer half to death, of course (she's the little grey critter playing with D'Argo in his pictures). Two hours before my alarm, too. *sigh*

Some of the street lights were out, so I was navigating by a combination of head memory, muscle memory and the glimmer off the paint of the left-hand lane stripe. Of course, the fact that it was mostly a straight line helped, but easy to swerve off accidentally as well.
Thankfully, by the time I got through the toll gates, it had lightened up to normal rain again.
