Nifty! I'm all for the corgi love. It looks like our Pembroke.

Hee. I know of people who cheerfully collect beer mats without being interested in drinking the product, though.

[flagellates self for forgetting AGAIN]

It's a mosaic of a Pembroke corgi, a head-shot, all done up from what I believe are beer labels (although they could be beer mats). The different shades and tones of the labels act as large-scale pixels to make up the picture overall.

(Wales is very big on beer-drinking, no surprise.)

wel lther yo ugo, i completely forgot i asked abouthis. fun neoug hanyway.
the weird thing is it keeps remidning me of how i soemtiems ask people and they try to expalin and as soo nas i say idont' udnerstand whathtey mean they getoff it iwth an 'perhaps yo ujstu have to see it to get it'. :P

Did the explanation make sense, though? You could imagine it as a bas-relief (I've heard they've done this to some famous paintings, to give people an idea of what it 'looks' like), a braille depiction. Since it's pixellated to start with, it's not that far off from braille anyway. :)

[identity profile] erised1810.livejournal.com 2008-01-22 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
it did make sense ot me atleastthe way yo udescribed it.
oh i know those...they neverreall ymake sense to me because it'a way to turn something two-dimentional into somethign tactile whion paper which turns it into mere flat lines. it's lek whe nwe have tactile drawings of mathimatical shapes,(I d'not knwo the right english wordsfor those.) a piramid for instance or a cube. i cna't link the shape ofa cube wit hthe lay-out i na text book what with those weird diagonal lines.
if i draw a huamn figure you'd se a circle, something oblongedu nderneath, then a circle or anattempt at an oval, then tw sticks, and hen higher up i'll tr yto aim two similar sticks and sometiems iremember to try and add the fingers. adn the lowersticks mosly turn int ol'shapes or b-shapes.
adn ahouse is a rectangular with atriangle on top. i remember ionce had a course onthe meanign of shapes nad how to visualize stuff and iwsa suposed to draw a portrait of m yface. so i jsut felt the front with oen hand and then painted what I felt.
but ihave noidea if braile and pixels are similar enough. althoug hit does remind me of ascii art...

ASCII art is a very good analogy.

And your drawing sounds like pretty much most people's who say they can't draw. *grin* You, however, have a bit more of a reason for it than they do.
