OK. I actually get all 3 of those references.

I had to look up 'Tyler Durden', though.

You're such a geek :)

And I got all three references, though I've never seen "Citizen Kane".

Sadly, I've only ever seen clips from the film, never the entire movie. Nor North by Northwest.

I get ellipses after 'sled,' which is why I've been having a side convo with someone about those notes.

Caption aweigh!

comic title: Spoiler Alert! image: a stick figure violently swinging a red-runnered toy sled, apparently having caused the falling stick figure with the long black coat to, well, fall. caption: SNAPE KILLS TRINITY WITH ROSEBUD! (and then it turns out they're both Tyler Durden)

Try going to the original page, they're shorter - I was narrating it here for Erised.

Ah- "And then it turns out"
I right-clicked on the IMG here to GOTO the original page.
And I even understand the 4th element here now
[but does anyone understand The Fifth Element?]

thank you, you're sweet. except i can't use hte mouseover function or atleast don't know if my virutal substitute-for-a-mouse can use it. si i had to dive into the html to look forthe 'title' tag (and yes i do soemtimes use mouseovers in my own links butthat's because i liekd the effect and i learned it form you too, hah.) anyway i'm giggling. i only know snape though. no idea aboutthe other three even if others sorta mentioned them.
(i'm loking more and more a tthis kidn of stuff to help myself over thatthreshold I have with geekery stuff whereeveyrone but me gets the joke. i' malwaysscared i get one of those urges to just whine how dumb i feel and everyoen else ahs read much more than me etc.

Oh bah, the title tag doesn't really work for you? [GRUMP] What works best, plain text? [kicks Microsoft et al]

'Rosebud' is from Citizen Kane - it's the most famous spoiler ever.

Trinity is one of the major characters and protagonist-motivations from the Matrix series, although so much of that's visual, it might be hard for you to pick up the story well (which is a shame, because it's kinda classic). A lot of people only like the first movie, which is a fairy tale dressed up in cyberpleather, but the second two maintain not only some amazing action, but continue the theme of the Saviour-Hero, straight out of Joseph Campbell. Neo's coat in the second and third movies is also a masterwork of tailoring.

And Tyler Durden's from Fight Club. I had to look that one up myself.

it might worki na way. i jsut havne't foudn out if this virtual mousething form my software can handle this. and perhaps in ie it does work. i mean if someoen lesttext scroll out it scrolsl for me alright *grunts*. adn dont' getm e started on the binkign stufff or the one where a new text appears every ten seconds. (n ow is your cue to say 'the nstop visiting obscure russian sites and get a proper fileshare to lok for pirated ebooks instead." yeah well what woudl you do if someone give yo ukinda half the list people rec to yo uadn you refuse to read those in dutch or from audio/)
you't best just putthe explanation underneath like normal lj content (and uct it if you wantto. ot better yet, jsut wait till i ask for it. in man ycasesi probably wil lget compeltley lost in the nods or jokes unless they're about current news or harry potter or about famous people.
actually I can't believe i missed trinity. i have seen the matrix (stop gapign at me). i had someoe nexplai nsome stuff to me. parts ofit had me lsotthough. i remember the part witthe gypsy and i knwo was fascianted by the concept (butthe 'there is no spoon' thing had m ybrain hurt fora bit.) theris too much big symbolic stuffi nther though, i need to find away to be able to handle big junkcs of food for thought.
eh i'ven ver sen citizen kane though. and fight club..well it soudns abit radical to me.
