This isn't a terribly rational response, but when I heard about the thank-Goddess disabled carbombs in London, I kept getting stomach twitches; looking at the map in this SkyNews web article, it twitches worse.

That's right where I spent a lot of my time in London. There's no temporal bombs yet, but the news put me right back on that street, as much as staring at that rigged car. And seeing what it would have done, having exploded.

That's my London.

First time I went to London, I spent most of my time at Piccadilly. I loved it. This bullshit disgusts me to no end.

I don't get it. You have a "cause" which merits murdering innocent people? Your cause isn't worth a damn. I just don't get it.

According to that map, that car was parked or crashed almost immediately in front of the World's Fastest McDonald's store (or it was while I was there). Have some speeding nails with your sandwich? They're so brilliant for having caught those in time. The expense of that much petrol kinda horrifies me, too.

I hope they find the B*stards and HANG them out to dry on the Tower.

Well- I can't imagine the Tower was always used for storing/displaying the Crown Jewels... And after it's long and darkly storied history, I should think it would Welcome a couple of newly gibbeted prisoners...

(Yes- I can be an evil, vindictive, Gruesome B*tch sometimes...) >:)

We were in that area last year, and in prior years. I've friends who are likely on holiday in that area now. I'm concerned for them, and especially for our friend in the City of London Police.
Fanaticism of any stripe is horrid.

Oh- Corgi, this was 'sposed to be a commiserative post, but it din't read as one when posted. Not ignoring your feelings/reaction.

[patpat] You're fine. I haven't been there for years, but I'm very fond of it nonetheless. It's an incredibly DENSE area, and the damage would have been all sorts of horrifying, even with luck.

Empathy and Sympathy. I was there too, when I went to the UK with my mom. She and her sister were Laker Airways US publicity heads for LA and NY respectively. Yeah, we spent time on the West End.

Blessed be the British Police, one and all, for nailing these cars before they nailed anybody else -- pun intended.

whenever I go to M's flat, I cycle through there. And that's most days, most weeks. But not this summer, thank God.

It's down to the handover, IMNSHO. Right now, I aint gonna be on the tube any time soon.

Although a Jeep Cherokee in KX will only hasten the proposed demise of the Green Evil out front...

I know not of the Green Evil...? (South Wales - I did Paddington, mostly, KX only once ever.)

Look at a photo of the front of the station - there's a hideous 70s structure that was meant to be temporary. I refer to it as the Green Evil :)

I just read about Glasgow - I talk to people at that airport. Thank goodness the [undescribable noun] seem to've been totally incompetent at being mass-murderers. Hooray for stupid, for once.

My sympathies, my prayers, go with you and all UKers right now, Corgi love...
And how, exactly, can I get hold of you directly? comment on my LJ and let me know. I tried adding you to my yahoo messenger and it wouldn't go through.

I rarely have my IM running while I'm at home of late; just a function of my schedule.
