One /more/ thing:

I stopped in lower Georgia for fuel, caffeine, nose strips, Krystals... important travelling things like that.

And I found out that Krystal, of all places... Krystal has free wireless connectivity. The fact that there's exactly 1 Krystal in SE Florida (apparently sans wireless, still) only makes me gnash my teeth.

For everybody who's too Northern or too not-North-American to know what I'm talking about, Krystals are little square burgers, fried on a griddle and served w/ sauteed onions, mustard and pickle on little puffy buns. They're very much like the NE's White Castle, and Miami's own Royal Castle which, alas, folded decades ago. They are delicious and probably quite bad for you. They're only in the South, which is why they're not in Palm Beach/Broward/Dade/Monroe, except for the sole exception on Sunrise Blvd.

McDonald's should be ashamed of itself.

Krystal has more meat than White Castle, by about .5 grams. I don't know why, but when everyone else says they're similar, I don't get it.

They must have programmed me that way back when they still had the fried chicken shops in the back of the stores.

Most of the Krystals have free wifi, and I noticed the ones that do have better service. Must be because you can hit the coroprate website and e-mail the webcam pictures to support your complaint in real-time.

McDonald's has to pay for the clown's helium habit.

Krystal. Would never have thought it. I have never once patronized a Krystal, largely because my first introduction to the chain was when I moved to Georgia and saw their advertisement that stated that "Every chick wants a Booty Smack". (name of a sandwich). I said then that they wouldn't get any of my money, thank you kindly.

However, the info about their willingness to respond is heartening!

Well... I can't really argue that point. :/ I don't get near them often enough to consider a boycott.

And... I'm weak.

No Krystals or (anything) Castles here in Los Angeles. Because we are the font of all drive thrus, we have lots of neato independents, and In-N-Out. Johnny Rockets and Red Robin are our Krystal equivalents, I think. Johnny Rockets is all retro diner with jukeboxes and a live fountain, Red Robin is a yuppy burger joint. I think there may be a Panera in the San Fernando Valley.

Here in CA we are more likely to attach wifi requirements onto cable monopolies, so it's mostly a government thing.

Nooooononono, Johnny Rockets is nothing like it. We have those here.

Red Robin, haven't been there.

I'm trying to remember the name of the burger joint over in Silver Lake (ish), but their burgers are regular burgers, too. Little more of the same ambiance, though. Short man's-name, I think... drat.

Red Robin is a family-type sitdown burger restaurant with a bar and sports tv. The '$6 burger'-type place; more on the menu also, of course.
The Panera in Palmdale has wifi; so does It's A Grind coffee near us in Lancaster, Camille's wrap sandwiches 'n' things [I think it's a franchise, not sure], at least some of the billions of Antelope Valley's Starbucks, etc. It's been many years since we were in Silverlake area, but there are a lot of Tommie's Burgers in the Southland. Actually we may have been on Sunset near Micheltorena 2-3 years ago, but we were eating in a tiny Cubano place with some friends.

Nearly all the Paneras have wifi, as I understand it. All the new ones, definitely.

Tommy's! That's it! And to be specific, this one, I think maybe.
