One of the staff writers (along with the marvellous James D. Parriot, the very genre-ish Michael Cassutt and the experienced Pam Norris) of the annoyingly unavailable but completely memorable Misfits of Science has created a new superhero show for NBC this fall.
This is gonna be great.
ETA: OKOKOK, here: Heroes ("Heroes" 2006/II). And here: Heroes-TV, #1 Fan Site for NBC's Heroes (wow, they work fast...). And lastly, Wiki: Heroes (TV series).

... I love the concept. I'd like to see that same concept with actors who don't make me want to hurt them and diversification of ideas. Maybe I should write for t.v. when i grow up.

Date: 2006-08-25 04:04 pm (UTC)(.....) Mmmindeed. I hadn't seen anything but commercials up to now. I see there's even a black guy? O_o (not surprised, but wonder why none of these characters are in the commercials? Are they not leading characters? Supporting cast? that would explain it.) (pokes around some more)
(......) It seems that the one dark guy on the cast plays a prison inmate.
(facepalm) **thwaps Hollywood with shoes.**
*sighs.* The unfortunate thing is that looking at the synopses for the show on those links only made it look more interesting, like this on the wiki-link: The drama tells the story of people who "thought they were like everyone else... until they woke with incredible abilities".[1] A Japanese salaryman discovers that he can manipulate time and space. A struggling New York artist can paint the future but only whilst he is using heroin. A discontented police officer in Los Angeles can hear the thoughts of others. A high school cheerleader discovers she recovers from any injury and a single mom realizes she has "a powerful alter ego". The premise is that these people have a role in "saving humankind".
According to the NBC website,[1] not only do the characters discover what having superpowers means to them
But I have absolutely no belief that the final production values will match the promise of those conceptive ideas, based on what I've seen so far. Every show, no matter how interesting its ideas, are starting to be cooki-cutters of every other show out there.
Hollywood, be more creative!! Stop thinking about your paychecks!!
