At least for the moment. Somebody likely tossed this urchin into our front yard. She seemed healthy, well-fed... except if Meissa's been a tick bus, this puppy was a tick 747. [insert shudder here] Let me put it this way: the inside of her ears weren't black because they were dirty. On the whole, she was very good about being bathed and plucked at with tweezers by a complete stranger. And for some reason, she smelled like she'd been living in a car engine....

Ma immediately proclaimed that if she's in our yard, she's ours, and dubbed her Annie, but now she's having second thoughts, mostly because the volume level of two corgwn and a boxer all barking at Annie while they're playing is nigh unto deafening. (Curiously, Annie's not really barking back all that much, although she has barked.) Eh, we'll see. Inertia is your friend.

So here is Batch 24 for your viewing pleasure: Annie the New Puppy plays with everybody

Oh, my. What kind of person would abandon such a sweet pup?!? She seems to have found a good haven, though, and fits in well with the other dogs. Good on ya for taking her in!

Oh, lots of people in Miami. Lots. Who deserve extermination, but that's just me.

Anyway, she might end up at the Humane Society or some other shelter, but we'll see if Ma softens up again.

Adorable. Dollars to donuts she's a basenji mix- which would explain the wrinkles, the size, and the no-barking. Does she still have puppy teeth?

Contact your local basenji rescue, and also the Trimaris hound coursing list- I'm pretty sure there are some basenji people on there.

Oooo, basenji! That'd explain the colour! I misspoke, though - her muzzle's stubbier than your average mix, but not wrinkly; and she has barked, just not shrieked along with the rest of the crowd here, who have been DEAFENING. Actually, her head shape reminds me somewhat of a puggle's.

As you might see, though, her tail's very long and straight. From the size of her paws, I don't think she'll be much more than 40 lbs as an adult. Definitely puppy teeth - and puppy-floppy-when-asleep. I'm spotting her at 3 months, 3.5 maaaaaaybe. Ma said 2, but Ma's been pretty demented lately [/snark].

(We don't have many basenjis in Miami, but I guess there's got to be a few irresponsible ones....)

Do I see a little Chi in her? :)

OK, here's the deal: she looks like my Chihuahua *holds Prada up to screen so she can see her penpal's photo*. Yep, Prada and I agree that she definately has Chi coloring. That is a compliment to Annie as there is nothing so adorable as a Chihuahua *holds Prada's paw as she agrees* LOL

*snicker*

Yup, that's another possibility, but her dad would've had to've been a very ambitious Chi....

Congrats on the new puppy

Annie has Prada's coloring. They would match were they playing together. What a cutie. Hope you got her totally de-flead (de-fleaded?) and tickless by now.

I hope you don't make your bed like somebody I know...with a rawhide bone sitting on the pillow next to her owner's :)

Enjoy her...she's adorable.

Hardly any fleas around here right now - sheesh, the ticks are making me wish for fleas instead. Still picking away, but I'm pretty much down to grape-seed ticks, which were probably dots-with-legs ticks that I couldn't see or couldn't be bothered with before (too hard to snag sometimes).

Oh, she is so gorgeous. The poor darling! I can't imagine why anyone would dump her!

*hugs her and pets her*

*pets the rest so they don't get jealous*

*hugs you*

Love,

JK

Yay! Invitation to be mobbed by puppies! Whee! They can play "Mob the JK" instead of "Mob the boxer"!

Oh, the boxer'll mob you too!

That dog is too cute.
Lots of people are going to a bad place when they die.
At least these ones were (something) enough to put her in your yard!

Yeah. Ticks. Icky! Our buldog used to get them in his ears when we went to my grandma's. Lots of aspirin bottles of alchohol around! (for disposal)

She's got such a nice temperment, too! Get very vocal about being left in the kitchen at night, though, heh.

'Something' = 'slightly less stupid' in [livejournal.com profile] in_the_bluespeak. ;)

Augh. In the ears is the second worst; first-worst is edges of delicate areas. Found one on an eyelid.

I have a special loathing for people who dump dogs. My poor baby was dumped, and it took ages for her to understand what when we got in the car and drove away or tied her up and walked away, we weren't leaving her forever.

She is an extremely sweet and affectionate, though very touchy-feely (i.e. likes to jump and come for pats and hugs) dog.

Awwww... how old was she when you got her? And what breed(s) is she again? You've probably said and I just forgot.

I think Annie just misses the attention. She seems to have wrinkle-dog personality, if that makes sense (boxers/pugs/Bostons/non-terrier-bulldogs).

She was about a year old. And we don't really know exactly what she is. She's a lovable mutt. She's at least part kelpie, though.

Oh, one reason she protests so loudly is 'cause she'd keep them all if we had the money/time/space/help. :) She didn't fuss about me taking her to a shelter when she called me this afternoon, though, so she's wobbling on the right side of things.

(Me, I try to keep them all anyway.)
