To Louisville and beyond (a la Buzz Liqhtyear)

Passed Louisville about 2.5 hours after leaving Myfanwy's house (127 miles-ish). It's slow because I stopped even before leaving IN to fiddle with things in the car.

D'Argo's funny -- he wouldn't eat his lunch out under a nice tree, but dove in almost as soon as I started driving again. (Maybe the Pup-peroni helped....)

But back to Louisville for a moment. I found it interesting how, just south of downtown, they have Cardinals Stadium, some huge stable facility, what appears to be a substantial amusement park and the airport -- with requisite hotels, of course. SDF sprawls, but part of that seems due to UPS. It loioks like a hub for them.

There's also Exit 129, CR 61, which is Preston Highway. Must remember to tell Preston-at-work about it.

And I just passed Dinosaur World.

Cardinal Stadium, the fairgrounds (with stables, yes), Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, and Louisville International Airport Standiford Field. And yes -- UPS has been in Louisville for years.

And Preston Highway has many of my old haunts. :D

Ah, thank you for the IDs! So that was Six Flags over there, eh? I saw lots and lots of rollercoasterloopiness.

You know what I was getting confused about? I was mixing up UPS's SDF hub with FedEx's MEM hub, and wondering why the package company would have two hubs so close. %) Dude... needed more caffeine at that point.

Preston-at-work's name doesn't show up too often, being a rather old-fashioned given name, so he might get a kick out of having a whole highway.
