Thanks for doing some digging. I found it interesting that the entry at leanleft.com spoke in depth about some of these end-of-life care cases as "indulging" family members who have money to pay for treatment, aren't using up equipment that could benefit other patients, and simply aren't ready to let go of their loved ones. I think that's exactly what's happened in the Schiavo case--and it's unfortunate that her parents are so staunchly irrational about their daughter's chances of recovery--but the really sick thing is the way the religious right has latched onto her case and made it a pro-life circus act.

Anyway, I won't preach to the converted--just wanted to say thanks.
