...I have finally reached a reasonable stopping point in garage-revamping.
I even made enough room, with rearranging, removing stuff and pulling down relatively-ancient business files for shredding, to take everything out of my storage unit, too. Huzzah! Not only is that a substantial chunk which won't be hæmorrhaging out every month, but they had rats and disintegrating walls there. A letter will be written about the problems; the service was always fine, quite adequate. Also, I've had a bad experience with (different) storage before and it made me feel dreadfully insecure.
There's four things that need doing in the garage itself: removing the rest of the up-high boxes, Ma going through her stuff, me going through my stuff, and fixing the toolbench to make it functional again. Until Ma finishes shredding what she's already got, there's no real point in pulling down the other boxes.
I also have to box up our dead paint. All that stuff is technically 'hazardous materials' and must needs be disposed of properly. And there's lots. At least there's no real harm to letting it sit out in the weather; honestly, can't do much more damage to it now.
Phase II... or is it III, because of moving the storage? OK, Phase III will be loading out the dining room. I will, no kidding, have to wear a dust mask going in there. It's measurable in spots. My comics boxes are in there, and various art supplies, the Shire library nobody remembers exists (partly because I can't reach the bluidy thing), a drawing board... Goddess knows what else. Lots of boxes in case of shipping and other packing materials.
I could use a hand. :/
Still waiting on the whole corgi-puppy situation, too. It's probably what hit my manic-compulsive button, but at least it's productive.
