Happy? Women's History Month
Mar. 3rd, 2005 11:27 amIn all the tumult of being Welshy and RP-y and such, I forgot to mention Women's History Month. I'm only 2 days late. I'm still waiting for the local PDA farm, news organisations and even 'The View' to catch up. (The View apparently is more into colon cancer awareness than recognising their sisters' achievements collectively.)
No, alas, I haven't had the time, energy or concentration to do anything like last year; the hurricanes kinda messed up my timeframe to honour Canadian women. Those who are sighing in relief, walk into this Three-Stooges slap, please [sticks out tongue]. However, if I get a chance to string neurons together long enough, there's at least one woman I'd like to commemorate whose got some pretty surprising history.
In the meantime, take a look at this LJ's last year's historical women, of both the U.S. and the Philippines (the last, courtesy of

Perhaps I can do at least one a week. (But just not this week.)
