For those who might care to indulge, Batch 5 has been uploaded.

ETA to fix the wrong bloody URL, gah. *blush*
sff_corgi_lj: (Eeek!)
I mentioned that my mother went up for my cousin Debbie's wake and funeral -- apparently the church for the Mass was utterly packed, quite the homage -- but she didn't find out until she got home that not long after she was dropped off at the airport, her brother-in-law (Debbie's father) had a heart attack. After EMS got him off to the hospital, one of Debbie's older brothers started having chest pains... and got trundled off right after his dad.

They're both doing OK, I should reassure you. Uncle Bill's resting comfortably (we haven't heard how much damage there was), and Wayne's problem was likely a stress manifestation; he's been sent home. But... sheesh!

Then later that night, [livejournal.com profile] sit_good_dog comes on to tell me her senior cat, Jasmine, was at the emergency vet's and very ill. I haven't heard from her today as to what's happening on that front.

Oy.

Diane Duane shared her 20-page Green Lantern comic script as her contribution to the 'draw Green Lantern' meme going around some places.

It's called "Social Occasion" and it's totally charming. Give it a read, eh?

Elsewhere, I've tripped (courtesy of Whedonesque) over a fascinating bit of animation hosted by Auntie Beeb, and written/directed by Amber Benson, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame (she played the terribly musical Tara) with Christopher Golden, who has quite the resume on his own in the dark and spooky end of writing.

It's called Ghosts of Albion, set in the early 1800s, about a pair of siblings who suddenly find themselves inheriting the magical protection of Albion, Britain's soul. (It plays either in Flash or RealPlayer, but the file downloads are likely not for the faint of bandwidth.)

Oh, bother, ETA - I'm probably the last to see this, but 'They're Taking the Hobbits to Isengard' has to be recommended just for the cheerful dance-tempo version of the Shire theme motif from Lord of the Rings. Nienna help me, it's an ear worm.
