War in Iraq

(Washington D.C.)- The war in Iraq is not going as advertised. It is a flawed policy wrapped in illusion. The American public is way ahead of us. The United States and coalition troops have done all they can in Iraq, but it is time for a change in direction. Our military is suffering. The future of our country is at risk. We can not continue on the present course. It is evident that continued military action in Iraq is not in the best interest of the United States of America, the Iraqi people or the Persian Gulf Region.

Huzzah, two mice in one night!

We have acquired housemates. Noisy, MIMMOTH-FOOTED, loudly-squeaking, yellow-rice-eating housemates.

They are not paying rent.

However, after an unpleasant experience with my parents' idea of mousetraps many years ago, I found these mousetraps... I'm not even sure where. Guys, this was pre-Internet (as strange an existance as that may be for you whippersnappers), so I must have seen them in some activist-type magazine.

We ordered more, after the one remaining one from that time in the misty past proved to be successful with this batch of mice; they came today, and after removing the already-caught mouse in the old trap to behind the garage, I loaded the two new ones (I wanted three, really) and set them out. Fast work! I heard one of the little noisy wretches as it made all sorts of noise snacking on the bait and rustling around inside the trap.

Maybe we'll get them all moved out... eventually.
