Need I point out that it's a very short step between either dropping habeas corpus for general use, or finding ways to declare non-compliant Americans as 'enemy combatants'? Remember, they were arresting ordinary people who wore the wrong T-shirt to Bush pre-election-stealing rallies.
And may I suggest we all use those lovely contact links to either cheer on those defying the party line, or berate those who should be voting against it and didn't? Write to your Senator anyway.
Additionally, the House has yet to vote on this. Here, write to your Representative and urge them to kill this... this fascist piece of legislation.

Senate Approves Limiting Rights of U.S. Detainees(bolding mine)
...Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, chairman of the Judiciary Committee and one of four Republicans to vote against the measure, said the Senate was unduly rushing into a major legal shift without enough debate. "I believe the habeas corpus provision needs to be maintained," Mr. Specter said....
...In addition to Mr. Specter, Republicans voting against the bill were Senators John E. Sununu of New Hampshire, Gordon H. Smith of Oregon, and Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island. The five Democrats voting for the bill were Senators Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut, Mary L. Landrieu of Louisiana, Ben Nelson of Nebraska, Kent Conrad of North Dakota and Ron Wyden of Oregon.
