Today we left Ashland (with four new tyres), drove past the spectacular Mount Shasta, through the equally impressive Shasta-Trinity National Forest, and across some of the most excruciatingly dull I-5 you could imagine.

Thankfully, we were able to find state-embroidered Beanie bears at the 'California Welcome Center' (for my coworker, Melinda) and get off I-5 onto State Road 20, which was a bit slower but more interesting and more direct for...

Believe me, it deserves capital letters. *BOGGLE* And I thought

sit_good_dog's house was wicked keen,

sunny_daylee's is a flamin' mansion. It has ceilings higher than anything outside of a church, an indoor garden/koi pond, a Real-Sized kitchen (rarer than one would think, really).

She also, despite all her cat-cat-cat stuff, has a very nice dog named Chester. See? It's a trend. Corgis and Chesters.

sunny_daylee delivered theirs in person. My mother called at an I-forgot-the-time-difference hour of the morning, and

myfanwy called just after we crossed the state border. Since we were on the road, I haven't checked much of anywhere else yet, where I might have something waiting.
