Their catalog showed up here because I've bought some things for my niece-phew... so now I'm on Amazon's and everybody's 'buys kid stuff' list. ^_^ (The catalog is likely to kill you with pastels by the time you're through, incidentally.)
The links are all to images and should open in new windows.
So -- how, pray tell, is this 'boys' bedding'? It's DOGGIES! Almost wish I could buy it for myself, but there's no point (I've got plenty of bedlinens). The photo in the print catalog is better.
At some point, the 'who-do-I-know-having-a-baby' part of my brain went *ka-ching* --
piperx, have you seen this stuff yet? It's probably too pricey for anyone except the Martha Stewart set, really, but it's fun to look at. This rug kinda reminds me of the wallpaper border you just won on eBay, for instance.
This rug, however, I myself would have totally grooved on as a small person.
Here's another sexist sorting: how are these bedlinens girly? If they had a version that was pink-on-pink, I can understand it, but this is kinda gender-neutral to me. Hullo, male Friends? Can I get a considered opinion from your personal PoV, please?
[looks at these] Must.. have... strength... have... insufficient... windows...! *twitch*
This, on the other paw -- I have to keep reminding myself I live in the bluidy sub-tropics (but it's reeeeeed!) and don't need it. Would you believe it's somewhere in the low-to-middle 20s C today? [glowers]
Lastly (are you glad?), I must make sure
copperbadge sees this! Other than the Copperbadgey in-jokiness of it, he does have a small sister whom this would fit/work for. And it is not horribly expensive!

That's so, so great.
*makes note* There must be some sort of gift-giving holiday coming up soon...
Re:

Date: 2004-02-06 02:47 am (UTC)I think if, for instance, I were looking at a picture of bedlinens with a Lion King motif, I'd KNOW darn well they were for kids without someone having to TELL me. And who says dog-themed bedsheets are for kids anyway?

Date: 2004-02-06 06:44 am (UTC)As for what typifies boyish and girlish stuff, boys clothes tend to be in bright, primary colors. Girls get the pastels. That seems to fit for the linen as well. There are exceptions of course, but you really have to look for them.
And you know... I do like that rug. It would be perfect but I don't even want to know how much it costs...

Girliness isn't just determined by color scheme. Those have a certain whimsy to them that boys wouldn't be as likely to appreciate.

They make blankets with pentacles on them?? LOL!
And in case you're wondering, my dear, I'm replying this weekend :)
