The density of the rain last night when I was leaving work (Miramar), all the way east on the Turnpike to about Calder, was possibly the worst I'd ever driven in. And I drove through the edges of Hurricane Elena, eh?
Some of the street lights were out, so I was navigating by a combination of head memory, muscle memory and the glimmer off the paint of the left-hand lane stripe. Of course, the fact that it was mostly a straight line helped, but easy to swerve off accidentally as well.
Thankfully, by the time I got through the toll gates, it had lightened up to normal rain again.
