Dog is no longer resident here, as a guest or anything else. Yesterday, after a 12-hour shift (the sinking ship still need coverage, after all), I took Dog up to Broward Humane and then D'Argo to the vet to make sure his eye didn't get more damage than I thought. See, after playing so nicely with D'Argo and the girls previous, Dog and D got into a real fight, pretty much right on top of me. D'Argo won, effectively, but Dog has this unnerving technique of going for the eyes. I told Blade, I think, that he should really be the lead in a Jack London novel.
So off he went, to the shelter in the area that has the best adoption reputation - but as a stray surrender, he's got to pass their temperment tests or off to Animal Control he goes. :/ [crosses paws]
I failed, you know. It shouldn't've come to this.
*sigh*
It's rather quieter here now.
Gemma continues to be naughty. Naughty, naughty, naughty. Myfanwy and I think it's a brindle thing. In fact...
[gets up to go look for corgwn]
[finds only .5 corgwn]
[makes sure she's reasonably dressed]
[trudges sans eyeglasses around the corner of the block]
[yells at bad dogs]
[trudges home down the middle of the street as Gemma has stopped for a lie and a drink in a gutter puddle on the way]
Meanwhile, my edamame have sprouted, all nine seeds planted!! Let's hope the stalks do well and don't get eaten by one of the infinite numbers of creepy things in this pesthole environment - which has gone warm, incidentally.
Girl Genius has gone very tense/exciting, Second Life is all sorts of busy, and I still have pictures of various things I haven't shown you yet. And after staying up so much AND so late yesterday, I didn't sleep that well. I probably should have closed up the bedroom and turned the A/C on - where's my proper snowy cold fronts? Argh.
So.... anybody want a dog?

Date: 2007-11-25 09:20 pm (UTC)From outside looking in, I don't see that you failed. Dog's temperament wasn't amenable to being changed, by your best treatment and a pack to socialise him.
I can understand that it *feels* as if *you failed* him, but you gave him the best environment possible. It's as sensible to say *he* failed *you*- but how could a stray whose personality was formed elsewhere really do that?

I think she did it on her own, as Mac expressed no opinion whatever. (Last time, he was all, "Da-ad, Gypsy got my bunny! Make her stop!"
*Yep, more buzz words than a beehive fulla bureaucrats.
