Thankfully all is well then. They really need to figure out a chip that transmits a GPS location trace signal - wouldn't be too hard to do, considering that the amount of energy a dog's body puts out would be enough to power it.
Given how GPS chips can now be fitted in devices as small as a pen top, I'm surprised someone hasn't come up with the idea. Hell, you can trace a mobile phone to an accuracy of a couple of metres if it's switched on, simply by how far it is from the nearest two phone masts, so why can't they do this with dog chips?
Worth consideration, and will probably make a fortune for the first person who can do this at a reasonable rate.
