Oh, the former, in this case ... it seems I dozed off last night with the lights on, and without setting the alarm. Was awakened (in the week's oddest usage of the word "fortuitously") by an early morning automated message from a company I'm trying to get in touch with, but whose voicemail is always full-thankyou-goodbye-click.
