Yes, I've been kinda quiet.
Oct. 4th, 2007 12:07 amIncidentally, my Semagic went and lost all its settings for the umpteenth time. I have to redo all my macros again if I want them. Bah. No 'woof' line.
Anybody got a spare clothes washer they don't want?
Cousin Ellen just sent me one of Those Things where somebody in a fit of jingoism goes off about a trivium, working up outrage over nothing. This one's about 'In God We Trust' not being on new dollar coins - not that the guvmint has bothered trying to ensure anybody other than collectors and city metros bother to use them. Refuse the coins! they cry. 'God is missing!' Yeah, right. Here was my response, and yes, I hit Reply to All.
What else, what else... not much going on here during my 'vacation' except looking at broken or dirty things and sweating. It's nice not having to break my neck getting out the door to work, though. Birthday was mostly in airports, where nothing bad happened, so that's good.
Oh - D'Argo apparently got a tick-related disease (statistically, it's amazing we've not all been sick). I wonder if it's what Annie had, blast it. Need to get her tested now. High calcium and globulin, really low platelets - and he didn't eat all weekend, pretty much, but he's looking much better already. Maybe it was a combination of nerves and ill that made him not hungry, 'cause he's eaten everything I've given him. Poor baby. He's getting extra-big lunches.

God is only missing if you're willing to lose Her. This is not a Christian nation, nor a christian one - especially for the past 6+ years. It was founded with a mind towards religious equality, and that includes having NO religion and not having 'God' (somebody else's image of God) forced on you.
Sheesh, it's only coinage. Jesus threw the moneylenders out, remember? 'Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's'; money has nothing to do with achieving Heaven. There are more important things to worry about than words on a coin - like feeding the poor with those coins, since the people we've elected to take care of that don't seem to be able to do their jobs or do them without interference from evil, selfish men.
