Every now and then, it's interesting to review one's unique interests -- I mean the interests in your userinfo which are not links, which nobody else shares (or at least not with that spelling!). brythonic I'm a little surprised not to see this -- the Brythonic people are the less-publicised half of the British Celts, and the ones who named the island. It's also the name of the Celtic language sub-group, 'P Celtic'. It consists of the Welsh, Cornish, Bretons, Gauls and maybe the Galicians, I'm not sure. buddug Another surprise. Where's the Welsh nationalist historians? This is the modern Welsh spelling of Boudicca's name. frank mcpike And where's the Wiseguy fen? Frank McPike was Vinnie Terranova's boss and handler. I think I have something for smart, snarky control freaks. genre media Catch-all phrase for SF and fantasy television and movies. OK, if Sauron got one ring, the elves got three, the dwarves got seven and the men got nine... who got five rings? And it's not a Christmas joke, either. Why the break in the pattern?

Unless this is covered in canon somewhere where I have not strayed, it'd be a nice plot bunny to explain why trolls are so utterly dim, wouldn't it? And/or a lack of giants? Something happened to this theoretical five rings which was so terrible, it destroyed a whole race and made them monsters. (All the rings stayed with humanoids, so that lets the Ents and suchlike out of the running....)
