Update on the Jack, et alia
Oct. 31st, 2003 09:31 pm.
Y'know, if he was in shock, it was the unshockiest shock I've ever seen. He was kinda smiling, wagging a little, no indication of pain at all.
But once the Humane Society and I stopped bristling at each other about his dropping-off situation, I found out he was actually chipped! They traced him to a pet store [hissss!] in Pembroke Pines, not very far from my work, but the manager was refusing by law to give up the dog's purchaser (he eventually broke down after he'd left the female Pines-resident owner three messages).
Y'see, due to their regs, the H.S. couldn't work on the dog until they got owner permission. Yikes. But he was in a cage, being friendly at people... with a broken leg. Amazing. Must be some of that Terrier Thing.
When I decended upon the pet store ready to tear people into little shreds, the manager (after defending himself) explained he'd finally passed on the contact info; the H.S. was going to work on the dog to some extent anyway; and when they shaved him down to work on his open sores, as he had a couple I noticed, they apparently said he looked as if he'd been abused.
But he trusted me, and the H.S. people. [shakes head wonderingly] Incidentally, the H.S. woman I spoke to said if I'd taken him to Animal Control, they would have just put him to sleep.

sidhe_darkrose is FINALLY getting the hang of her LJ; she's much into the LEXX fandom, so I made her an amusing animated Kai icon, which took me forever to beat the filesize down to LJ-acceptable.
She then asked about some Legolas or dark elf icons; I had fun browsing the web for such -- easy work, that:
legolas_icons! But I brought my FotR and DVD player to work in hopes that it'll be quiet enough for me to skim through and find some scenes to cap, maybe try my own mini-movie icon for her.

>~ I cheated on my costume -- I'm wearing my SCA garb to work.

>~ Am up to Disk 4 on each Dracula and Fellowship of the Ring. Very nice voices on both -- Dracula has a male and a female reader, while LotR has only the one (his Gandalf sounds strikingly Christopher-Lee-ish, although I'm certain that's unintentional).
I'm sure these last two items were utterly fascinating for you all. ;)
