Hmmm... the secret origin of Neo? Or just a really strange gardening story?
I feel bad for
amaterasu. I mean, I've been in much the same place, far more times than I'd like to remember. She sounds like she's in the same emotional place I was before my mother decided to betray me (that corgi puppy thing, if you remember from June) and I moved out.
The balance of power has shifted now, not just economically. I'm having different mom-troubles this weekend. She borrowed my car (with permission, of course) when hers wouldn't start, and got in a very minor accident. Then the next day, when I was out getting my Vibe (see below), she got in enough of an accident with her own car that the airbags went off and they had to tow it away -- undriveable.
When I got home, I found her sitting on the floor in the living room -- she'd fallen again, and couldn't get up by herself. She fell again later, as she was changing for bed, so on top of going face-first onto hardwood flooring, she got to be embarrassed. Thankfully, I know this house by touch and can walk around with my eyes shut... symbolic, at least.
So today, as I've been getting mold-cleaning supplies (I treated myself to some new Maglites -- I lose the Micro ones off my keys, and my last Mini has apparently glued itself into one unit with melted batteries) and dog biccies and bins to schlep the stuff out of Herne the Greenvan, she's been sitting around with a contused chin, split skin on her arm and hand, and a lot of rib pain.
What'm I gonna do while I'm on my holiday? [bite lip]
