I am stuck...

…on NW 7th Avenue, which is neither fun nor interesting, especially when one's car has decided to betray one.

I had a wobbly-tyre issue last night, but couldn't find anything wrong then. However, this morning, on leaving for work (a little late, I confess) I had the passenger-side tyre divest itself of its tread about 10 miles, I'm guessing, up the road.

After an hour, I finally had some help -- I couldn't get my jack loose to be able to help myself -- and he couldn't get the tyre off either..

Went to the repair garage down the road a bit… and THEY couldn't take it off without breaking things.

And look, the tread on the tyre on the REAR passenger side is separating.

AND all of a sudden, Herne the Greenvan can't back up.

God in Her Heavens.

So, I sit here and write this for upload later -- hopefully the AvantGo will work this time -- while melting in my hot car... with my Internet connexion and my DVD player, and audio copy of OoP.

God... I love technology....

I'm not in Hell... But I have a sweeping view of Purgatory from here.

I had to upload it just now. Once again, the AvantGo LJ client did NOT work for me, so I'm glad I was warier this time and saved it in my Memopad.

Wanna know what happened next?

Two hours of waiting in 30C+ heat. And then they couldn't replace parts on the wheels like they expected, so Herne is sitting on a lift in a garage in Virginia Gardens instead of my driveway tonight.

AND the brakes need to be re-done.

I have this really annoyed feeling I'm not going to be able to go to Dragon*Con after all after this, especially since I screwed up my time off.

A migraine would be more fun at this point.
